The stems will have to wait a bit: I decided it is time for the coaming. I start out with three ash battens, one for the coaming itself, and two for the coaming lip. These are steam-bent around a form, and when dry, laminated with epoxy.  Each batten is joined with a long glue scarf placed at the back edge: My steaming setup: I steamed ribs and coaming for my first SOF by boiling them in a big pan. It worked, but took a long time because I had to boil and bend each end of the ribs separately... By accident I found a cheapo wallpaper steamer in a shop, and by adding a long polypropene pipe, a pipe fitting, and a short piece of hose, I had the perfect steaming device:   Total build time: 6 hours
